THE BATHROOM MAKEOVER

We bought this house back in December 2018 and immediately starting renovating it ( I know.. we are still going!) the first room we completed was the main bathroom, so I thought I would talk you through the process.

First up - I will show you the before, it was a fairly small room, so we stole some space from the bedroom next door, to make it slightly bigger, and also give us the ability to fit a bath and separate shower in.

We also moved the boiler downstairs which basically gave us a shower space, as this was in cupboard on the landing which went into the bathroom. We  built a stud wall to be able to have some indented shelves above the bath. These have come in really handy for storage.

NEW WALL

The first thing I sourced for the bathroom were the floor tiles, I fell in love with the star pattern, and everything then fitted in with that, we kept the wall tiles pretty basic but added an interesting pattern. There felt like a lot of white so we added De Nimes by farrow and ball to the walls which I think works really well with the floor tiles and adds some depth to the room. We did all the tiling ourselves, which is why it is not perfect, and took us forever to finish, but honestly we saved thousands by doing it ourselves, we were complete novices and just looked up videos on youtube, so definitely give it a go if you are thinking about it! We tile everything now!

We decided to carry the star tiles up the shower wall for some interest, and added a crittall style door. This was then finished with brass hardware as i am obsessed with gold / brass, you will find it everywhere in our home.

My blog post here details where everything is from. Any questions, please just ask away xx
